Unable to edit restricted files

I'm unable to un-restrict .so files.

I edit the restrictions, push save, but when I go back to the page nothing has been changed, and .so is still restricted.

I tried deleting the restriction completley(on exe,etc.) but to no avail!

This is a rather large problem, as it seems file permissions are not changeable.

Click on Update. Then on Save.
