FTP connection timeout

Hey guys...

 

 

 

Having some trouble with ftp for one of my admins. seems ftp give's him a connection timeout error, due to teh fact that he is on 2-way Satellite Internet connection - he doens't have Cable or DSL available up there in the mountains of N. Calif.

 

the delays from there to my server are causing the timeout due to the 46,000 mile introduced by the geosynchronous satellite in space.

 

 

 

Is it possible on my end to bump up the connection timeout limit a few more seconds to accomodate him?

The timeout in the FTP server is set to 10 seconds. If it times out for him you should tell him to use the file manager.
