It might seem like a waste of resources to back it up on the same drive, but I wanted to create a weekly backup so that if anything was messed up on the servers I would have a backup at least. If you have a fileserver or an offsite location, map a network drive and set the backup location to that, you could schedule a job to run this. You could include the sqldb to be done from the master server's backup( I assume most have done it this way). Maybe set up two jobs, so, like the poster above me, you can also have a local backup, just incase you need to restore something quick. I already use Windows Image backup for that.
