ryandev00
For mods/updates an option to set the number of connections a download task can do would speed up downloads.
CloudCUBE
Is this for external downloads? I don't see any issues deploying mods/updates in the GBs if you just .zip the files.
ryandev00
Yes. I don't think you are quite following what I am saying. The extra connections would allow for maximum utilization of the speed of the up/downlink. Have you ever used a download manager and downloaded with multiple connections? It's the same concept. More connections = better speed. This is incredibly imperative for external downloads in the multiple gig size.
Raizio
Are you sure you want to do this on a server where gameservers are running? More connections/wanting to download at highest speeds is sure to cause lag.
CloudCUBE
If your setup is done correctly you'll have Internal and WAN on seperate links. As for the multi-threaded downloads, Locally it's not going to make a difference. The limitation with your current setup is the way FTP works with multiple files. if you just .zip the contents you'll acheive greater speeds due to FTP not connecting and listing each file as it progresses.
