New user - Help with SCRDS games

Hello, I am currently trying out the tcadmin v2 and have been successfully building custom xml's for some of the games that I run for my clan servers.

However, when I attempt to install a game that is based on scrds I can install the game and it is fine except the service itself does not launch when ran from the panel.

Specifically L4D2, and then also Contagion (based on same engine) the games install fine and I have verified the installation files are present and can manually launch them but not through the panel. I am using the L4D2 template included with the v2.

I don't believe it is the command line as I can use the same command line on a shortcut in the folder location and it launches the server but TCA does not launch the server, it only idles with minimal ram as though something is not working.

Anyone else experience this and if so, can you share your info with me to fix it.

Thanks,

Steve

Ok, I have done everything and it simply will not run from tcadmin v2.

The same config used on tcadmin panel has been verified on the desktop and all of the files have been verified. I can run the same launch command and config setup directly from the desktop and it loads the server successfully but I cannot get it to launch from the panel v2.

I have spent way more hours than its worth fiddling with tcadmin. This is not unique to L4D2, its the same for Contagion. Both games run using SCRDS which is the only thing unique between this game server I am trying to add to the panel and the other servers I have added to the panel (which are custom games I will add). I can run both L4D2 and Contagion with setups and configs that are identical from the desktop, just not from tcadmin v2, the service stops and only idles at around 32 mb of ram, the issue seems to be with SCRDS I think but I don't know.

Does anyone else have L4D2 working on TCadmin v2?

Thanks,

Well, did a complete reinstall of the panel and l4d2 from SteamCMD and used the template (again) it simply does not run from the panel for me.

Have been looking at the following post and think maybe this is the issue:

Hello, I have sorted it out and I will share the info of what worked so that when someone else stumbles upon my thread because they have this issue they can learn the solution instead of finding posts like I did where someone spends days asking for help and getting loads of input from others and then when the poster finds the solution they end the post with "I figured it out" and nothing more said on how they sorted it.

My information was found through multiple threads on the tcadmin forums and search engines so I will compile them into a single thread: These fixes apply to Windows 2012 Server

1: Go to powershell and run regedit - > then in registry go to : HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows NoInteractiveServices (Change 1 to 0 and reboot to enable it. Then enable in services)

(Cannot remember where I found this post on TCadmin)

2: Setting the compatibility mode of the SRCDS.EXE to windows 7. It needs to be done with a script, or ?manually? on the master file use "Change settings for all users" in the exe properties.

If using a script the below works:

Script to add: Use on after create service

reg.exe Add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers" /v "%ThisService_Executable%" /d "WIN7RTM"

Script to add: Use on after delete service:

reg.exe delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers" /v "%ThisService_Executable%" /f

Credit for sharing the info goes to gijs007

Thanks,

Steve
