Tekkit Configs Winodws - Linux

Hey all i made a Minecraft Tekkit config for both windows and Linux.

 

you must download the Tekkit Server files http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/servers/tekkitmain/Tekkit_Server_v1.2.9e.zip and make a folder in your TCAFiles\Games called Tekkit and drag and drop all the files inside Tekkit_Server_v1.2.9e.zip into the Tekkit folder.

 

If you have any questions just ask in this thread i will try to answer them.

I'd like to know how this is different from the original official tcadmin minecraft profile?

You can add in tekkit via Mod Manager in that.

 

Also a sidenote; you could setup an external URL to their mirror.

Saves the need to save it to TCAFiles\Games

Versions are incorrect for the ones in tcadmin, for tekkit etc.

There's a good chance that the Minecraft config is not outdated. We're using the default one with a couple of changes

you got a point but someone asked me to make a tcadmin game config just for the tekkit and he didn't want to use the mod manager.

what java version are you running and is this in Linux or windows

Runing on Windows Server 2012

jre-8u40-windows-x64.exe

Minecraft and Bukkit run with no issues.

You need to use Java 7 for Tekkit as 8 has issues running it.

It's also not recommended running Minecraft on Java 8 yet. Some really popular plugins are not yet supporting Java 8. You should at least inform future customers about this if you do.

You know, I noticed this when yesterday I tried to setup a client's bukkit server.

ERRORS FOR DAYS. Then oh..let's try java7. Worked better.

Interesting... Bukkit and vanilla work great with java 8. Just tukkit needs 7.

Many Tekkit releases are running on very old (1.4 or 1.5) version of the Minecraft jar. Most things have been compiled with Java 7, and there really isn't any reason to be using Java 8 at the moment.

Hi I added the game config but when i go to install the game service tekkit doesnt show up on the list?

Make sure the install files exist.

You need to have the files in the /home/tcafiles/games dir (or C:\TCAFiles\Games if on Windows).
