Ayatomi
Greetings everyone. I am currently looking for "The Forest" server files. But the person who worked on it and apparently had it completed, is not able to be reached and have gone "rogue" / no online since. Is there anyone here who have the config files for it? Amadeux
I see you have Server.ini in the game folder. How are you calling that as your configuration file? It just sits inactive when I try to run it through TCAdmin.

Gotteshand
All good. You have to start the server with gravity normal and then start a new save file then everything is normal and also spawn monster

Gotteshand
You're right as soon as you start The Forest via TCAdmin you get an error message. This has to do with the fact that TCadmin is running as server service. If you start the Forrest with a Start.Bat file it just stops without TCadmin
numpty
ehat start.bat do you have an example one?? ior have it just rune theforestdedicatedserver.exe??
numpty
I tried with a bat file it kept looping and starting the server up whenever I try with the exe I get desktop: 1920x1080 60Hz; virtual: 1920x1080 at 0,0 Switching to resolution 1024x720 failed, trying lower one All resolution switches have failed Screen: DX11 could not switch resolution (1024x720 fs=0 hz=0) or with the bat, i get https://i.imgur.com/DFBKTIc.png how can I fix these issues?? if I try the runas command via cmd prompt it works perfectly with no errors so something within tcadmin must be causing it can you help me fix my issue thanks
KGM6911
also cannot seem to find the server it boots ok but cannot find it in the server list Hi, to get the server in the server list you need to setup a steam login for the server. It will give you a login token that you need to put in your config. Here's the site to create the token: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers On that page you need to make one for The Forest with 242760 as your game. I'm unsure about how it's placed in the config file I don't have any raw text file to show and i've never done it myself. If this is not done you'll never see the server in game. Here's a link to see an image file of Configuration Editor with this in it. http://www.apoc.info/config.png Edited January 24, 2018 by KGM6911

Amadeux
After MUCH research I've concluded that my dedicated server is locked to only 1 resolution. I've edited the registry to try to change the default resolution of The Forest dedicated server but it reverts back as soon as you run it again. I believe my particular problem is related to the server using the default Microsoft Display Driver instead of the one that should be installed. DXDiag shows only the 1 available resolution and it's higher (1920x1080) than The Forest allows. It does work when logged in via RDP probably because it's not trying to run as a background process and runs in a 1024x720 window. If I do figure this out I'll post a solution.
