Restart Server Option

What exactly is the command that is ran when using the 'restart server' option? I tried this on a Windows 2003 machine, it shutdown the machine and did not restart it.

I will ask Luis to post what the exact commands are. I know that initially a command is sent to shut down all TCAdmin services, it then should simply issue the windows restart command.

 

I will let him verify it though.

 

 

I tested it twice on our Win2k3 test box without issue.

It has been tested on Windows 2000, XP and 2003. Could it be that the server got stuck while shutting down?

 

Linux uses the reboot command.

I just tested it on our test box gp.tcadmin.com and it worked fine.

 

I will also add that our box is actually 64 bit Win2k3 as well.

Were you able to confirm anything with the first machine?

 

Did it hang on shutdown?

You can verify that TCAdmin does a restart by checking the Event Viewer. In the System Log filter by source = USER32. You will see something like this:

Shutdown Type: restart
