jungleNZ
You have to purchase 2 games, 1 for client and 1 for server use. The server when setup gets a license key from Giant Software. (server files are with the game files) Servers can be setup by anyone.
dazman
when ya say 1 for server use. The server when setup gets a license key from Giant Software. do ya uplaod them from to ya tcadmin server?
numpty
Basically buy the key direct from Giants and download the exe files frm then. Cannot use steam version at all. And then run game once to be asked for key then add key. Did it for fs17 Am unsure ATM if it's like where its 1 key per machine or 1 per server that will need tested
Dennis
Would only make sense if it's one per running service.
numpty
It would yes. But. Would get expensive. Sounds would be cheaper for all of us if was 1key ber dedicated server. But bet that's not gonna happen.. I will b getting fs19 next few weeks so will b able to test the theory out
Dennis
You can reuse the key. That expense will be covered very quickly.
numpty
So I could run eg 6 servers on one machine at same time with same key??
Dennis
No, you can run 1 server with the same key. When the service is terminated, you can reuse that key.
numpty
So if I want to run 2 servers at same time. I'd need 2 keys. Correct?? Even if on same box
Dennis
Correct.

Dennis
It's not that bad. It's definately more expensive than any other game, but the amount you pay for the license is only gonna take 1 extra month of hosting to earn - and that's only for the first client. Once a license is paid for, you can keep using that (on a single server).
ECF
So each server you deploy doesn't need its own license Dennis?
numpty
From what I understand. You create only one server with one key. So if you run 2 fs server on one box I'm thinking you need 2 keys. I may be wrong. But the keys can be reused if. A customer cancels. Correct me if wrong @dennis
Dennis
So each server you deploy doesn't need its own license Dennis? Sorry for being unclear. The way it works right now is that you need one license per game server you want to use. These licenses can be reused once a game server is no longer active. So, if you want to host a total of 50 game servers at once, you order only 50 licenses. If 10 clients terminate their game server, you can still reuse the 10 licenses :-)
numpty
So I got it right just not as many words ?? I understand now. By how you said that

ECF
Still seem kinda expensive. But I guess if the client is willing to pay, so be it
