Todd Holley
I gave up on trying to get ut3 to run, so I simply resell them from another company.

ECF
The query is not yet working for UT3. So you should set the game compatibility to blank.

ribshap
Are you using a valid gamespy id and login? It doesn't really matter I guess, theres a problem where if someone joins your server through console (/open ip;port) then your server becomes a LAN and no one can join. What a mess of a release. tangogc
no I don't use a valid gamespy id a login. I have to ?
zebgames
I have my server showing up in the browser, but it is not joinable. Just shows connecting...
ribshap
no I don't use a valid gamespy id a login. I have to ? If you want it to show up in browser, if you have it loading from an ini you may not need to do so, from what I understand. Zeb, if someone tried to join your server with /open then your server is now in LAN mode and no one can join. Restart it, and try to join after. If it is still a problem, some datacenters have a problem with connecting to this mess of a game.
JasonF
I did not follow this thread closely because of the lack of interest in UT3 but I see everyone is incorporating the -login= -password= into the command line. I removed it and added the -login= and -password= to the command line builder and clients can add their own login and pass without me manually adding it. Defcon|Rich
Details about the first patch for UT3. Changelog: (admin/network relevant only) Networking: Implemented STUN support (Simple Traversal of UDP Through Network Address Translators) to enable clients and servers to connect from behind a NAT. Fixed team scores very rarely not updating for a client. Fixed bot faction option when running a listen server. Fixed link setup not reset correctly when going from a map with a custom link setup to one using the default. Fixed a case where Duel would place an incoming player on the wrong team when some players were still travelling. Bullseye stats are now properly recorded. Fixed clients not travelling to downloaded maps correctly. Fixed the client and server getting into a loop sending each other close messages in some situations. Quick match incorporates player rating into search decision. Fixed issue where Vista clients would not receive all servers from a server browser search. Applied proper fix to suppressing voice on dedicated servers. Fixed issues with players not getting on right team in Duel and Duel+Survival if a player leaves in certain timing windows during map transitions. Fixed previous level PRIs showing up on the scoreboard/leaderboard after the client travels (making it look like players have already scored lots of points when those clients are in fact still loading) Fixed losing your custom character mesh after changing teams during a match. Server Administration: Reduced tick rate for dedicated servers with no clients (saves CPU on idle servers). Dedicated servers do not require CD keys. Added -configsubdir= command line option to cause .ini files to be loaded/saved from the specified subdirectory of Game\Config\ Added QueryPort configuration and command line option. Added an "AdminChangeOption [option] [value]" console command for server admins. This allows changing most simple .ini values (e.g. GoalScore) from the client. This command will not override URL options. The change will take effect after the next map change. Added an "AdminPublishMapList" console command for server admins. This overrides the server's map list for the current game type with the one on the client that used the command. Uses GameReplicationInfo.ServerName if set for the name of the server on the server browser. Added "AdminForceVoiceMute" and "AdminForceVoiceUnMute": Stops/Starts a player from sending voip to others Added "AdminForceTextMut" and "AdminForceTextUnMute": Stops/Starts a player from send text messages to others Updated AdminPlayerList to show the PlayerID of the players on the server. Updated Kick/Ban to allow for using either the player name or the id

Defcon|Rich
Rich, if you practiced what you preached, you would need a new CD everytime you deployed a server.. -bobby Giving a customer access to utilize server files I own isn't a problem since the game runs on my server they don't possess or own any part of the copyrighted material they are merely given access to change a text file (cfg) (Which I made personally ) But to answer your question, Yes We have copies for every game we sell and also buy copies for each staff member to learn the game. That's how a professional hosting company does business not by posting on a dozen forums hoping someone helps with something they should know already. That's what our customers are supposed to do. We are supposed to be the ones that have the answers. I hope you understand the difference and my point. Thanks!
leetservers
Use this patch, its a little more stable. download it from: http://www.epicgames.com/download/patch1beta3.exe So Rich, you mean to tell me that you bought 100 copies of cod4? -bobby
Defcon|Rich
Don't need to Bobby. I retain the ownership of the files. The legal fine print reads you must be the registered holder and not install it on more then one system or you have to get additional copies. The game doesn't get installed on our servers. I don't want to start a debate with you Bobby, I knew your old boss and hold your company in high regards which is why I mentioned it in the first place. I tend to be very direct which takes some getting used to but I only sleep 3 hours per night and have alot of free time so that might have something to do with it too Just go buy the games Bobby. I'm sure leetservers makes enough to justify it
leetservers
"Just go buy the games Bobby. I'm sure leetservers makes enough to justify it" Now your digging yourself into a bigger hole. How dare you imply that I don't buy games and that I should buy games. my desk is loaded with games. Remember Rich, read back in this thread, you attacked me first. I never said 2 words to you. I'll watch you throw digs at the kids and laugh. Come and attack me I'm coming back at you. =bobby

Modding: - Improved support for creating PS3 mods. - Added a SupportedGameTypes field to UTUIDataProvider_Mutator. If some entries are in this array, the mutator will only be visible in the menus if the selected gametype is found in the array. - Fixed custom gametype midgame menus not being used correctly. - Shipping script compiler now allows localized/config defaultproperties because otherwise autodownloaded mods have no way for their localized/config variables to work. - Added Get/SetSpecialValue() stubs to Object to allow mods to expose values that can be modified without creating a dependancy. Changes in red = differences from BETA3, these where the ones pointed out by someone on the epic maling list.
