shadowdogg
Hi I would just like to know how once servers are installed are ran. Either: 1. Ran like normal with console showing up in windows desktop 2. Ran then minimized 3. Ran but hidden 4. Ran as a service and remain hidden Thanks
DougK94
Depends on what you have it set for. Take a look at the demo
ECF
By default they run as a windows service which you would not be able to see, unless you select the Interact with desktop option and then you can login via RDP in console mode to see the console(s). Definitely a better answer. Sorry, I misread your question and was thinking you were asking how to change it... ME BRAIN DEAD....
{-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
We have found that with America's Army it uses less RAM when set to interact with desktop. I don't know why but after it runs for awhile it uses less RAM.
Todd Holley
How much less?
shadowdogg
and can i ask - is running as a windows service better for SRCDS servers? in terms of less cpu usage/ram usage but still good registry.
ECF
It would be the same as running it on the desktop.
{-SMAKU-}_MotorMouth
1 server that uses PsB configs was running at 300mb idle dropped to 150mb with 26 players. Server using AASA was idle 200mb dropped to 125mb with 26 players. It made a difference but I don't understand why.
