I just had a new (2 weeks) dedicated customer complaining about lag on his server. Kentsfield 2.4 Quad core, 2 GB ram.

 

On investigating, I found what I thought could possibly be his problem. Here is what he is running, or rather trying to run on it.

Sounds like one of those cases where they constantly ask 'How many slots can that take' And idiot has probably said it will take X number of slots so they go and match it. Why would you even need a COD1 server of that size!

How does his memory vs. cpu utilization break out? Could probably still add some RAM.

Surprisingly, the CPU usage so far is close, but then not all of them have been very active. But memory is the definite problem..

You shouldn't on a 100Mbps port.

Or more likely hes 'sponsoring' a clan in return for a crappy banner on a website with no hits, uses a freebie template and a PR of 0, as is common among clans looking for sponsors.

A slight difference from 20 days ago.....

 

Surprisingly, each core is only averaging about 40% usage, and of course his 2 GB of memory is constantly pegged......and the pagefile is running about 6 GB

 

I cannot believe we have not received any tickets from him complaining about lag.......

Go to admin -> services and make sure you have Terminal Services Session Directory enabled
