DougK94
I just had a new (2 weeks) dedicated customer complaining about lag on his server. Kentsfield 2.4 Quad core, 2 GB ram. On investigating, I found what I thought could possibly be his problem. Here is what he is running, or rather trying to run on it. COD 64 Slots COD 64 Slots COD:UO 48 Slots COD:UO 64 Slots COD2 32 Slots COD4 32 Slots COD4 32 Slots COD4 64 Slots Crysis 32 Slots CS 24 Slots CSS 24 Slots CSS 24 Slots CSS 28 Slots CSS 32 Slots CSS 32 Slots MOHAA 32 Slots MOHAA 48 Slots MOHAirborne 32 Slots WOLFET 20 Slots WOLFET 32 Slots WOLFET 32 Slots
Alex H
Sounds like one of those cases where they constantly ask 'How many slots can that take' And idiot has probably said it will take X number of slots so they go and match it. Why would you even need a COD1 server of that size!
JasonF
psssttt. I run that many with a celeron.
HIS-MOTHER
If he drops one of the WOLFET servers can he squeeze a 64 BF2 on it?
DougK94
He should be able to .... One of his answers was "But I still have over 100 GB of space left on the hard drive" .........
DougK94
Hmmmmmmm 792 slots * $1.00 each - $200 = $592 LOL...I guess that is the secret in making $$$$ selling $1.00 slot servers.....
qwidjib0
How does his memory vs. cpu utilization break out? Could probably still add some RAM.
DougK94
Surprisingly, the CPU usage so far is close, but then not all of them have been very active. But memory is the definite problem..

Except for the fact that Im 90% sure there just his server. No way he could sell such large servers so soon SO its more like 0-200 = -
bfarrell
I think his perception of lag will reach a new level once they're all active

Alex H
Or more likely hes 'sponsoring' a clan in return for a crappy banner on a website with no hits, uses a freebie template and a PR of 0, as is common among clans looking for sponsors. DougK94
He now has the below on his server: COD 24 Slots COD 25 Slots COD 32 Slots COD 64 Slots COD:UO 32 Slots COD2 25 Slots COD4 16 Slots COD4 32 Slots COD4 32 Slots COD4 32 Slots COD4 64 Slots CSS 11 Slots CSS 14 Slots CSS 16 Slots CSS 16 Slots CSS 20 Slots CSS 20 Slots CSS 24 Slots CSS 32 Slots CSS 32 Slots DoD:S 16 Slots FEAR 25 Slots MOH 32 Slots MOHAirborne 32 Slots Ship 16 Slots TF2 16 Slots A slight difference from 20 days ago.....
