Brandon
Hello, When sourcetv is enabled ingame on source servers this adds +1 slot to the game server. Because of this +1 slot that is added the tcadmin monitoring software sends out an email to these customers informing them of the unauthorized change. I have not been able to determine an alternative to this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?
ECF
Add a slot to the game server for those that have HLTV enabled?
Brandon
The slot is automatically added ingame while the game server is running. Server is set to 12 slots -- when sourcetv is enabled it becomes 13 slots.
studeggle
I have not had any trouble with this, but I setup sourcetv in the command line. If you allow the client to set it up by the config file they can cause major extra strain on your system by opening source tv slots, which are not caught by tcadmin as extra slots. Brandon
Can you please give an example of your command line? How does that make any difference?
Jdubz31
Can you please give an example of your command line? How does that make any difference? Does this solution have to be automated, as in integrated into the game config in TCA? If not, you could utilize the custom command line feature, by inserting the default command line. Then, with the custom command line, you should be able to change the slots on the service to +1 from the custom command line, and the TCA Monitor should not send out the notices. If you aren't able to manually manipulate servers with SRCTVs that have this issue, I'll have to think something else up!
Brandon
Well the problem is the slot being added to the set maxplayers. So if the server is set to 12 slots when sourcetv is enabled the server becomes 13 slots (after the server is started and adds +1). If the server is 24 slots then it becomes 25 slots. JasonF
I had the same issue Brandon, this is what worked for me -> Go into the game server's setting and increasing the slot count by +1. Then overwrite the command line, in the game settings, manually putting in the max players. So if you increase the max allowed slots to 25 and in your command line call the max slots as 24 it should increment +1 to max players of 25 and not disable the game server. Brandon
This seems like a good solution up until they create a custom command line. I'll look at this option to see if we can work it in. Thanks.
adamnp
In the last update, valve removed the need for an extra slot for sourcetv. It will operate on a full 10 man server with 10 slots. Not sure if any of you caught that or not -Adam

Johnny5_Hull
Did anyone find a working solution for this, that didn't have a downside or create issues with command lines? It' has started to plague me and I just wondered what people thought was the best solution. Thanks in advance
Brandon
Nope only solution is to set the slots setting to 11 and hardset the command line with 10 slots. Therefore when the sourcetv is enabled your monitor doesn't go crazy. I wish there was some way to have a -1 slot setting in the command line. %slotsminusone% so it would automatically do this for us.
Johnny5_Hull
Yeah, that would be good, I like the sound of %slotsminusone%. I will give that one a go, and hope that %slotsminusone% is integrated before I go even greyer
Johnny5_Hull
Just thought I would revive this thread, as I was curious as to whether anyone had found a better working solution to this. I have tried a number of things but with no joy.
SniperFodder
Nada. The commandline forced change seems to be working. It's just a pain for all the OrangeBox games. I've noticed that you don't need to do it on source... aka Episode 1 games.
ECF
Update to the latest version and revisit your game config and look for the "Additional Slots:" field. This is what it is for.
Johnny5_Hull
Yeah, noticed it was in the lastest update ECF. Very nice addition
Nisd
You might wanna try and use one of these options in your command line if you wanna disable sourcetv: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SourceTV#Command_Line_Parameters
