Interact With Desktop?

I cant get my servers to show on ym desktop. Ive selected "Interact With Desktop" on all 8 Half life servers im running but the console wont show on my logged in user.

 

I am logged in as Admin and i only have 1 user active.

 

Any ideas?

are you logged into the console session or just as administrator? You need to be logged into the console session.

You could also just go to Start >> Run and enter

 

mstsc.exe /console

I just keep a shortcut to RDP on my desktop and edit the commandline.

 

%SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe /admin (For XP SP3 and Vista)

 

%SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe /console (for XP SP2)

Also if you are running Windows Server 2008 you will have to wait until Windows Prompts you to go into interactive mod. Once you are in and leave your remote desktop session will be disconnected.

You can also just tell it you wish to go to the other desktop by restarting the "interactive sevice detection" service. I often find 2008 takes to long to give me that popup message, so I short cut it.
