World in Conflict log on account

Hello everyone,

 

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, working on getting TC Admin setup, all the games n all but lost at how to make World in Conflict log on with a Administrator account, could someone point in the right direction on how to do this please?

Are you referring to the windows account that the game service uses?

Yeah, you would go Control Panel > Admin > Services, then find the service and go to the log on tab and enter the account there, just wondering if TC can automate that?

By default TCAdmin runs the service as System. You can change it manually in the service settings within windows if you like though.

 

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to run the game as administrator?

WiC won't start as a service, starts then crashes, so we have to make it use an account, was hoping this could have been done auto.

TCA runs our WIC ranked and unranked just fine without any modifications to account settings. All run as System no issues.

same here WIC runs fine! You need the Actual Dedicated Files (1.9 or 1.009 can remember something with 1.XXXXX9)

Ok it runs fine in non ranked mode, but whenever we run it ranked it dies on us, we do have permission to run ranked etc - In the registry, on the server, is your WiC CD Key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software> Massive Entertainment AB>World In Conflict and in there (Default) (value not set) CDKEY 0000-0000-0000-0000-0000

 

We have contacted Massive but any input from you guys would rock! (Server starts fine by hand)

As soon as JasonF gets back online from Gustav, he should be able to help you, I know he was running WiC ranked.

WIC ranked uses a different set of files not just the addition of the .reg key. You are using the ranked set when trying to put the server up ranked?

Currently the only way to run ranked servers is by using the cd-key in the registry method. The server files are the same.

Open up that servers windows service settings. Click on the run as tab and change the info there to the administrator login info. Start the service and make sure it starts the game correctly. Then stop the service and set the run as back to system. Then try starting the game through the panel.

Also, you should check to see why it is crashing. Use the following troubleshooter using Running the game server with "Interact with Desktop" enabled so you can view the game console method to see why it is crashing out.

Hi,

 

Tried them, nothing, console is not even showing up, I did disable it incase that was it, same thing - I did however reallow it the admin account in the services, and it started fine thro TC Admin.

My files are different. I even have one additional file within the ranked set. I just did a compare again to make sure. Not sure what massgate is telling you but our files are definatley different.

That's odd - would you mind telling me the name of the file by PM or here? Chances are we still have that from a old build and I will add it into this one.
