oddball
I know I did something wrong but I cannot figure it out. I have all of my 5 IP address on the site. I have the option to use them when I create a game server. The only IP that will show a game installed is the main IP for the box. Is there a more detailed step by step document other than the one that was emailed with my key that will show me how to setup all my IP address within the server? Thanks to all who help out! Mark9000
sounds like something in your net config for ip's. id go back and check it.
ECF
It sounds like the other 4 IP have not been bound to your network card yet.
peace
If game settings are configured to use not only default port but +1 for next installed server will panel first create servers on default ports on all IPs or on +1 port on main IP? You can try to set use only default port and see what will be then. Be sure that all IPs are installed on box. First go to RDP -> Control panel -> Network Connections -> Right mouse click on Ethernet connection that server are using and choose Propertiest -> Than click Properties on TCP/IP -> Advanced button at the bottom. Here you set all IPs that are used by server. In control panel of tcadmin go to System Settings -> Servers -> in Action dropdown choose Configure IPs. oddball
Thanks for all your help. It turns out the IP's weren't bound to the card. ECF you get the cigar!
MjrNuT
Sorry for the bump here, but it seems my question is related. I would like to run some GSs on different IPs. Just like Oddball, I have 5 IPs available to me. In an effort to learn, I just wanted one additional IP to be used. eg., x.210, and x.214) I was able to get x.214 added. It showed up in TCadmin upon creating a game and being able to select from the 2 IPs available, 210 and 214. I picked 214 naturally and the GS was created w/o a problem. It was joinable etc. However 2 things were borked or unexpected. 1) FTP address pointed to the 210 address when you look at the service details. NOt a biggie if it did not work. 2) Steam Update did not work at all. It's been a couple days since I did this and I reverted to using the 210 address and I can't explain more about this last item. It seemed to not find where HLDSUpdatetool was, maybe. Background: have been running several Steam games w/o problem on 210 address and no issues whatsoever. Just have a Master License. Nothing else. Would someone kindly explain what I did wrong or failed to do? I have submitted a support ticket and still awaiting, but thought I'd chime in here. Did you leave the default ftp IP blank in System Settings >> Servers 2) Do you have a firewall blocking the STEAM update exe? MjrNuT
Thanks for your response, let me try to answer. 1) Did you add the IP to the NIC card? Can you ping the IP address from home? Did you leave the default ftp IP blank in System Settings >> Servers Yes, it was added via TCP/IP Properties, > Advanced. Added the desired IP. Restarted the machine for the hell of it. TCadmin saw the IP address and I used it for creating the game service. 2) Do you have a firewall blocking the STEAM update exe? Did you put the hldsupdatetool.exe in the TCADmin Control Panel\Monitor folder? I have only Windows Firewall. Only using the Exceptions tab for desired ports. The EXE is located in the monitor folder. Steam Update works just fine with all the other steam services I have, TF2, L4D, and CS:S. I will try to reproduce this issue and provide SSs. HIS-MOTHER
The FTP issue is most likley with your servers config. Not the server.cfg but the one listed here. Admin Home > System Settings > Servers Remove the Ip from the line under ftp settings. *Built In FTP Server IP: and (Blank = All IPs) So leaving it blank will set-up the FTP on the same IP the game server instance was bound to, filling it in makes all the servers use one IP per box for FTP. as Jason already stated. Turn off the firewall and run the steam update. If it works you found the culprit.
MjrNuT
Thanks again for the followup. I went to reproduce and only 1 thing would reproduce. The FTP remains the FTP address, rather than using the 214. It shouldn't matter I guess. I could not find what you were referring to HIS-Mother. I have attached SS though to show at least what I see. Steam update worked fine. I must have done something in the Configure IPs part, b/c I did enter a descriptive name there (both), rather than leaving blank or using actual IP address. JasonF
Give me your TCAdmin login info in the ticket you opened with TCAdmin.
ECF
Got to System Settings>Servers and click on the IP of the server you have listed. This will open the server details page. Look for the FTP setting there.
