Arma2 OA patch 1.54

Dimitri,

The patching goes quick but for some reason tcadmin either errors or times out when a client goes to install the patch. When I get a chance I'll speak to Luis or Kevin it but for now everything seems to be running smooth.

oh well if your adding a tca.patch then its normal you timeout since the touched files for arma usually are big. This time its "only" 1.7Gb but still too big for a game update.

Either increase your web timeout big time in your master web.config or just use TCA.mods instead (thats what I do). So no more timeout it just emails you once patch was installed.

theres nothing hard in patching arma2, only problem i had was the missions.e.pbo bug but I was given the official libk for those 2 touched files.

Rich may I ask you what was taking so long for you? maybe I could help so next time you dont waste hours again.

It didn't take me long for the patch but the BAF that was added was the issue. Had to go through each and every server to import the registry change to unlock it.

Basically if you have more than one server you either need to install BAF onto each server, or you need to create a registry import from either of the two details below adding the registration key to it.

For x64

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 BAF]
"MAIN"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Bohemia Interactive\\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead"
"KEY"=hex:

For x86

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 BAF]
"MAIN"="C:\\Program Files\\Bohemia Interactive\\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead"
"KEY"=hex:

Remember, you have to insert the hex key after "KEY"=hex: which you can find from the first server that you've done the installation from.

Copy the above code that pertains to your case, add the key value, paste into notepad, save as baf.reg, and then simply upload and double click to add it to the registry.

Good tip, I'll have to try that next time. The workaround we did was to manually transfer the patch to every machine and put it in the game installs dir. From there it's able to install without a problem, The downside is we have 3 guys tied up.. 2 transferring files and 1 fielding the "Is the patch ready" tickets.. ;)
