adjust ftp timeout limit.

Is it possible to adjust the amount of time the ftp server allows a user to idle before closing

the ftp connection? I need to adjust it longer to assist in a problem with psychostats and

downloading the logs.

Not that I am aware of. I have never run into a problem like that before in downloading large log files for psychostats or for that matter FTP'ing up game files.

 

It almost sounds like it is the server psychostats is running on is timing out, not the FTP in TCAdmin.

Alot of FTP cients have a keepalive setting. Just sends a small command so the server does not think you are inactive.

It is most likely hard coded if there is a timeout setting. I asked Luis to post back on this subject.

heres the actual problem. It is a psychostats problem but it can be "fixed" with extending the timeout. Psychostats parses the logs 1 at a time if it hits an unusually large log and you are doing several at one time ( i give free psychostats to my servers so so a lot of parsing) then it takes over the timelimit to get the next log and the ftp connection is closed. This causes pstats to stall on that particular stats.pl and it must be closed manually. If i can extend the timeout longer i can do more servers at the same time. I'm out of times to put in servers to be parsed in a single 24 hour day (i space3 them 5 minutes apart and still hit the problem on a few large popular servers sometimes)

I just had a client mention the same thing to me. That while uploading CODUO maps his Filezilla would disconnect after a certain time of uploading. Keep us posted ECF on this.

Update on this, my client played with some off the idle settings in Filezilla and he said it resolved this issue. Maybe a FTP client thing not related to the actually FTP server.

a client can normally adjust a keepalive setting and be allowed to idle. But there is no keep alive in the psychostats client/code thats the real issue. "fixing" it on the server end is a workaround.

In the current version there is no way to set the idle timeout but I will add it in the next update. The default right now is 2 minutes.

I checked in the FTP settings in the plugin manager and didn't see anything there about a timeout.
