I'm sure it's a server restart that caused the data loss. Developers changed the autosave interval to 20mins from 30 mins and included a new console command of "save" which forces a world save.
-
Be advised, I updated to 2.0.160.18 on CentOS and had to revert back to 2.0.160.0 because customers were unable to stop/restart their servers, scripts were not working, and it appeared the panel was not communicating with monitors. Fine after reverting.
-
Is this also compatible with CentOS?
-
Can confirm, the 64 slots appearing on TCA and Steam protocols are bugs.. the servers in-game only show 10 slots.
-
Just change the port number? No issues so far using TCAdmin to launch the shell file. What issues are you having?
-
Savedir works for us, I just have it set to the game server's root path and it's been working. It throws the worlds folder right into the game server's root directory so it's easily accessed by customers.

Any chance this would be compatible with Linux in the foreseeable future?

Removed. What was not appearing is now appearing- this can be closed/deleted.

I wasn't attacking your idea by any means- the more documentation, the better. I simply stated that I don't think it's warranted given how simple the process is. The installation literally consists of copying and pasting 7 lines into an SSH terminal (on Linux). The panel even starts itself right after. In fact, being resourceful is often a profound quality of administrators. Therefore, I took the opportunity to run a Google video search for you on "How to install TCAdmin" and located these 3 results, which cover various operating systems and are featured in multiple languages: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ2VJmtF6OQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yamaEV7PydE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKWGz_8Er_s These don't even include the results for configuring the panel, which are also nicely made. This reply, like my first one, is not meant to be rude. There is no need to compare someone's opinion about installing a control panel with providing a population with basic knowledge they need to have in school.

The wiki article is sufficient for installation instructions, in my opinion. If one can't follow that, then they likely aren't well suited for the mechanics required of installing and configuring the panel.

For anyone encountering this issue, ignore execution errors resolved this and the mods appear to be working just fine.

@LFA I did apply the most recent revision of your script which works for the majority, but it seems we're still encountering one more bug that is present on some of the more popular mods as well: Log Details Downloading file 1741916864 from Steam... Executing before Workshop install/update scripts... Downloading eco's Primordial Saddles from Steam (retry 2 1229856965/764473978)... Executing after Workshop install/update scripts... Could not find file "/home/tcavirtualsvr6/customer/148/steamapps/workshop/content/346110/1741916864/WindowsNoEditor/Volcanic/Materials/ScalesKnobbyTiling_N.uasset.z" Any help would be appreciated as always! Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, Dennis. I did do that, but my only expectation with that is that it would disable slot checking entirely, which it didn't, but that's not my main goal either. I still want to keep slot detection but just not restart the server.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue or not. I wanted to disable all servers from restarting on all of our Rust servers, but still maintain monitoring and simply send an email so techs can investigate whether or not the server is having a queue (counts towards active players to TCA), or if the slots were in-fact increased. Below is a screenshot of my monitoring configuration for Rust. It has been like this for weeks but it appears servers are still being restarted by TCA if they go into a queue. On the particular server in question, I had slot detection enabled under Service Settings, which is default, but I disabled it while I investigate if this is a bug or not. I still want monitoring and notification via email only, just not restarting. Any insight would be appreciated!

Fantastic. The updates are great and really appreciated.

I like what the NexT theme is aiming for, however, a balance of horizontal and vertical menus is much more ergonomic because it doesn't push everything to the right when you hover over it. It also categorizes everything for an easier eye appeal. I'm also not a fan of the stock fluorescent fontawesome icons. But, making them all the same color wouldn't necessarily help either since they would all blend in. Personally, I'm torn and may just keep the below MVC theme until I can determine how to make the NexT theme quicker to navigate for clients and easier on the eyes.

Perfect, thank you again!

So about 6/7 mods are working fine, but every once in a while a mod is showing an error similar to this: Could not find a part of the path "/home/tcavirtualsvr9/customer/624/steamapps/workshop/content/346110/1522327484/WindowsNoEditor/Deinosuchus/Dino/Deinosuchus_Character_BP.uasset.z".

Huge deal, thank you.

Theme is very impressive and something that I think TCA deserves. A lot of progress was made with the introduction of MVC themes and this certainly takes it a step ahead. Images and text should line up a bit better and be on the same horizontal plane. A slightly more "modern" font instead of being so stock would also be more appealing. May I suggest Google Fonts Comfortaa, Ubuntu, or something similar? Great feature with the customizable background, too. Is this for admins only or can customers change the looks of things?
-
Thank you @LFAfor the time spent solving this for us. The updated script works every time and this is no longer an issue. It's great to have this working.
-
Same here. I've disabled the workshop browser in TCA for my customers and they're going to have to resort to the manual process as you mentioned.

Steam Update/Verify after created/re-install
Jimmy-CS replied to Jimmy-CS's topic in TCAdmin Version 2
LFA helped out via support ticket. Quote: It can be fixed by going to the game's settings. In the steam tab uncheck "Execute as the service's user" or if you already have it unchecked try unchecking it. Also if you want to save space you could place a only single file in the rust folder so it downloads the game completely when it runs the steam update for the new game server: echo 1 > /home/tcadmin/tcafiles/games/rust-linux/create.txt -
That is probably the easiest route. Assigning a server to a reseller (or if it's all on one node, a virtual server), would work best. I use virtual servers for dedicated IP addons for regular customers and have them assigned to a different datacenter.
