There's currently no reason to upgrade to Java 17. The recommended version for Minecraft 1.17 is still Java 16. The Minecraft modpack installer will have an update as soon as I fix the Forge-problem with version 1.17 (still not related to Java).

That's due to how Forge installation works after 1.17. I'll see if I can find a fix for it.

You need to download the latest minecraft.jar and place it in your C:\TCAFiles\Games\minecraft folder.

There's no need to change it to Java 17. Java 16 is recommended for Minecraft 1.17 and newer.

If you go to System > Settings > Game Tools, you will have the option to install games from Steam.

Could you please attach the server log? Edit: I've just tried installing the latest version of Forge. The jar is not in a different folder.

What issues are you facing, @Vicente? Please post the serverlog.

Do you see any errors in the Monitor log on the master if you enable debugging?

@conceptr980 Custom Mods have never been in the settings page. It has always been in the game config page. Try applying the update again and see if that fixes your issue.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Using Paper doesn't fix that Java will use more RAM than you assign to it - but by default, Paper will use less RAM. It will still be able to go higher than the limit, though.

Are you still experiencing that error? Have you made sure the service manager and monitor are running? If they are, try restarting both of them.

It doesn't matter what you set the RAM limit to in TCAdmin - unless you also set a value for virtual memory. If no value for virtual memory is set, the process will keep using virtual memory (page file). TCAdmin will not be able to control the real memory usage of a Java application any better than you can control it outside of TCAdmin. It's just not possible due to the way heap size works.

That's not an issue with the config. That's just how Java and Minecraft works. Newer versions of Minecraft uses a lot more RAM than older versions did. The more RAM you assign to a program, the more RAM it will consume generally. You can try starting the server outside of TCAdmin to verify that RAM usage is the same.

@kev60fps what's the issue? You allow it to use 8GB of RAM, and it's using 4GB.

Is that Linux or Windows? Try importing the config again. You can choose to only import updates.

@Ultrahost update TCAdmin. You can also open the .xml file with Notepad and remove the following: <rcon_commands>["whitelist on","whitelist off","seed"]</rcon_commands>

@Mikkel That shouldn't be a problem but I can't see why you would take that approach instead of the current one. Could you tell me why?
