Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare configs

I am amazed that there are not more game servers out there..... COD2 has like 10,000

 

Most are uploading 6GB+ of data over a broadband connection. ie.. 30+ hours LOL.

 

Only a few are driving to the DC and popping in the dvd. But steam now has it for DL 49.95 so there will be 10,000 by tonight I am betting.

If you buy the game, and have a legit cd key, I dont see why not download a torrent directly to the server.

Edit.. they changed it back again because it just said purchase now then it went to prepurchase. LOL At least they have a price on it now, which they did not yesterday.

I'm hoping the late setup wont effect my overall success. I am having to build 3 new machines because 2 of the 3 I had for CoD4 just got rented as dedicated servers. I see CoD4 sucks a little more ram lol. Need to go to 8 GB instead of the minimum of 2 GB.

Ive been thinking about trying to branch out into a few other cities. Waiting to see how next few months go. Trying to build 30 new servers by July before I make any moves. Ill keep you guys in mind.

Blue screen while smart ftp was uploading from my 30 hour broadband......

I had 4.2 gig finished and resume overwrote the file.

What is the average CPU & RAM usage people are seeing for say a full 32 slot server?

CPU usage is VERY low. Maby 4-5 percent is what im seeing. RAM is a lot though.. 150-220 MB.

I have just spotted the old Call of duty 4 safe mode option box

 

client changed his config, made a bit of a hash and as a result it caused it to error. When he restarted it I had to log on and click the old ok button to let it role again

Supposedly the game does not have a playelimit. The slot limit is as much as your server can handle.

I did notice that server. I figure it was modded as the title would suggest, and that it will no longer be ranked.

 

On another topic, the configs that were posted in this thread included this:

I have heard that all those masters are leftover from the COD2 config copy over and all that is required is

Can someone confirm this? so far I haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t seen a difference between the two.

I removed all those lines from our cfg's. Seems that the master servers are hardcoded into it.

 

and I got one up in 64 players but 32 is mayhem enough!

Those master server lines were added since I found them in another COD4 config on another website. They may not be needed, but I figured better safe then sorry.
