DougK94
anyone mess around with the sv_fps settings yet ? I know default is 20fps which sounds very low. Also we dont have reporting and game server status available yet via tcadmin. Will it be updated soon ? It works fine for all of mine. Check to make sure you have game compatibility set to "Call of Duty"
JJFS
Game server status and everything works fine in TCA. I run all my cod1 servers and cod2 servers and cod4 servers on 20 FPS. This is just a server-side fps and users conneted to the server can go WELL ABOVE that. I used to host my own servers on fps 30 cause it game the clients alot more fps in COD1/COD2 which is good. In COD4 I also used it untill I found out that when you put it on 30 fps you mess up the bomb timer in S&D (it will blow up on 20sec instead of 0sec) with the ClanBase config so I suggest every gamehosting provider to leave it on 20 to prevent this problem. infinitydevils
Hey guys, if you change the FPS20 to FPS30 it will throw off the game clock. The timers will all be off, they will run fast. We had changed ours to 30 because we were able to in CoD2, but with this engine it does not work. We set ours all back to 20. Hope this helps... xpservers
I concur. After a week of testing we found the server began crashing 3 times every hour with 40fps. Keeping it at 20 rock solid.

JasonF
As long as you don't run mods your servers will be ranked. Nice change from the EA version of ranked servers.

HIS-MOTHER
Looks like normal dvar warnings from the console. If the server is running I would ignore all that stuff since cod-cod4 have always produced hitch and dvar warnings. You can see those as a client as well if you open the full console ingame. HIS-MOTHER
I just saw a wierd issue with this patch. Ranked servers run fine but Modded servers when a map changes we see a checkerboard of brown and blue for a split second. I tried repatching to be sure. Anyone else getting this? Freddy
I'm new to CoD servers and I don't know where to get the server files. Is it downloadable somewhere? Thnx in advance!
DougK94
Nope, there are not downloadable file for that game engine. You must upload them yourself
JasonF
You have to install it locally and upload it to the server. You will also need directx9 installed on the server.
Freddy
Ah that's crap. I hope I can ask this here (if not, delete my posts please): I've got a downloaded version of CoD4 on my PC. So not retail and no official key. Can I use these files to host or will there be trouble with ranking etc.?
ph33rgear
I have the zipped files of my COD 4 directory and uploaded them to the server. Which I might add took me around 20 hours to do I have not unpacked them yet, I was looking for advice. So do I unpack them into my c:/GameInstalls/COD4 dir I created? I have already installed DX9c on the server. As well as downloaded the config files from this thread. Thanks for help in advance

DougK94
You do not need to unpack them if you have the directory structure correct.
